The New Scroll by JCAngelcraft

God’s commandment that “we should not bear false witness” is very old and has been with us thousands of years.  If it were not such problem, it would not be a commandment of God.  The Judgment of God to settle all affairs has also been us for thousands of years.   If you will notice that in every commandment of God there is a point of contention.  However there are no arguments in the judgement of God that turn over the commandments, but repentance can bring grace to a soul.   The sins for which again we find ourselves in a great reckoning and a Judgment of God,  involve each commandment.

The New Scroll by JCAngelcraft

Once upon a time in a small village near the great city of Alexandria the first newspaper was created.  This important invention was actually a scroll.  It was light like a feather.  Unlike the heavy clay tablets of the scribes, many scrolls could be carried large distances much more quickly without the worry of breakage.   When they saw the new scroll for the first time, the people of the village where amazed at the beauty of the written words.  The prophet who had invented it left the scroll with the people and they stretched it out before them.

”What does it say?” asked a young child to his mother

”It says that nothing but lies are written on the pharaoh’s tablets.” said a man who was reading “But there is more.”

As the people took turns reading the scroll one man remarked. ”They changed the story of Moses”

The people continued reading when another villager shouted ”The pharaoh’s new clay tablet says that God is punishing and does evil things to people.”

”Only the bad ones, my father taught us” remarked a woman

Everybody in the village read the scroll and were very happy to know that God cared enough for them to send them this messenger with his new scrolls. The prophet was very proud of his scroll and made several which he left in many villages. But the people were upset.  By memory they knew the story of Moses.

”The pharaoh’s high priests changed the story of Moses” commented another villager to people waiting to read the scroll.

As the new group of people gathered around to read the prophet’s scroll an Egyptian official entered into town on his horse.  The official  went to the temple of pharaoh which was in the center of town .

“The pharaoh’s scribes had just finished the new history of the judgment of Nineveh.” said to the official

After his declaration the official lifted up the new clay tablet so the people could read see it and said  “Pharaoh has made an oath to God that the news on the tablet is true and he set it down on the altar before a graven image of pharaoh and beckoned the people to worship.

Back in Alexandria the pharaoh gathered with his clergymen and said to them,  ”For sure the God of Israel will do evil and strike down these Hebrews for worshipping my Idols.” the Pharaoh said to his priests.

The people of the village were very afraid of Pharaoh and also of his official and so they bowed before his graven image and humbled themselves so they were not hurt.  But the Pharaoh was not true to his word and every day the men, women and children would disappear from the village while pharaoh spoke of the virtues of God.

God was angered at this and did not punish the People like Pharaoh thought for bowing down to a graven image of Pharaoh . Instead God struck down the Pharaoh, his armies and his officials for the sins of Egypt were indeed grave and numerous.  But after this great act of God, the new people in charge continued spreading the lies of Pharaoh and pretended he was still in power.   Then more officials of Pharaoh began to disappear but the lies and the tablets kept comming untill the scribes were forced to make a decision

The alters of Pharaoh in the centers of the villages were completely destroyed except for the clay tablet that carried the news of Nineveh.

“Nineveh was judged” said one man to the People who stood around the temple ruins. Everything was a mess and the people needed more news and they prayed. The next day a messenger from Egypt was sent to them with a new clay tablet. Pharaoh is dead!  Nineveh, Jerusalem and Ethiopia have been judged! The great city of Alexandria and Eypt have been judged by God, but his prophet remains.  Finally the mew people in charge of Egypt stopped spreading the lies of Pharaoh and they repented and were saved.
